Because the weather was so nice, I decided to grab my camera, go out into nature and take a few photos. My path eventually led me to the Immerather Maar. I have never been here before, did not know that there is even a maar here.

I like the winter! And therefore I was really happy when on Saturday just in time for the weekend snowflakes fell from the sky again... Quite suddenly - quietly - it has started....and almost not stopped .... until now fall sporadically sometimes more, sometimes less flakes from the sky... I like the season simply.....the cold, the silence....everything seems peaceful and quiet...

When I think about my favorite place in the GesundLand Vulkaneifel, one thing immediately comes to mind: the Ulmener Maar. Among the maars of the Volcanic Eifel, it is a little special - the maar is not only the youngest volcanic lake in the region but also in all of Germany.

Although we live in Manderscheid and our children (8 and 3 years) see the castles every day, they are thrilled by every visit to the upper castle. After the obligatory stop at the pond in the spa park- throwing in stones is a must- we walk with a small backpack and some goodies from the spa house towards Grafenstraße and then turn left onto the footpath to the castles. The somewhat bumpy path leads through the forest and you have the upper castle in view, so that less running enthusiasts can always see the goal of the walk.

My favorite place in the GesundLand Vulkaneifel is the Pulvermaar near Gillenfeld. It is located directly on the German Volcano Road and is the deepest maar in the Eifel. It is always worth a visit, whether in summer at 30°C or in winter at 0°C.

You want to enjoy peace and quiet in a unique landscape? - Then my favorite place is certainly also something for you. Embark with me on a "journey into another world"! Not far from Manderscheid, in the Salm Valley, is the 850-year-old Cistercian Abbey of Himmerod. As soon as you pass through the gate to the abbey, you forget time and space. The first sight is the abbey church. A long straight line leads directly to the interior of this imposing building. The view goes into a wide, high church room with an impressive vault.

How do you actually make cheese? What is special about goat cheese? And what does it actually taste like? For a few weeks now, I've been working in Ulmen, in the beautiful GesundLand Vulkaneifel. Of course, I spend most of my time at my desk, but on some days, like today, there are lots of exciting things for me to learn and experience outside the office.

For one of our new projects, I went in search of a spring in the GesundLand Vulkaneifel. After a short search, I was amazed at how many springs there are here with us! Super: I have a large selection. I found a lot of pictures, descriptions and tips, but there was one spring that really caught my attention: the thermal and mineral spring at the Ueßbach near Strotzbüsch.

Here we go on my discovery tour through the GesundLand Vulkaneifel. Together with my family, I chose the small village of Wallenborn as my first stop. After a quick breakfast we got into the car and drove off. Since we were on the road for just under an hour, we had enough time to take in the passing scenery...endless meadows and fields, dense clouds of fog and much to the delight of our children - several Rehrudel. Here the world seemed to stand still.

Weekend and sunshine - what could be better than spending a day full of relaxation with the kids in the GesundLand Vulkaneifel? How nice that I am sitting right at the source and have all the info, tips and suggestions for leisure activities at my fingertips (Small tip: Soon our new GästeInfo will be released!). For this Sunday we have chosen the parish and herb garden right next to the parish church in Greimerath.
