Here, organic farming is a life's work: the Ulmenhof is located in an idyllic side valley of the Volcanic Eifel and is farmed according to the guidelines of organic farming.
In the attached BioHofLaden, not only organic-regionally produced products, but also all the farm's own specialties are available. 35 Angler red cows and 90 dairy goats supply the milk for the farm's own dairy, where, in addition to feta and cream cheese, whey and buttermilk, cottage cheese, yogurt and goat as well as cow-cut cheese are produced. But also soup chickens and fresh eggs from the chicken mobile, as well as pumpkins, potatoes and a variety of meat products are available in the farm store. In addition, the BioHofLaden's assortment includes a wide variety of organic products from producers in the surrounding area, including wine, honey, vegetables, fruit, and bread and pastries. And the genuine GesundLand eggs are only available here in the Ulmenhof store.
The spacious terrace and the cozy coffee corner with fireplace invites you to linger and relax. In 2019, the BioHofLaden was awarded as one of the best organic stores in Germany. Owner Anna-Maria Kneißl received the bronze award for outstanding performance in the category "overall impression".

The best handmade goat cheese of the Vulkaneifel comes directly from Gillenfeld - from the Vulkanhof goat cheese dairy. Here goat cheese is made with passion, purely by hand and from the best ingredients. But the cheese dairy not only attracts with fantastic and regional cheese, guided tours in the "open stable" make the farm also a great experience for children.
Located not far from Pulvermaar and Holzmaar, the Vulkanhof has been run as a family business for decades. The farm specializes in goat farming and has had great success with it: "Der Feinschmecker" awarded the Vulkanhof as one of the best cheese dairies in all of Germany.
On a trip to GesundLand Vulkaneifel, the Vulkanhof in Gillenfeld is just as much a must for cheese lovers as it is for children. Young visitors can learn here that cheese does not come from the refrigerator - but is the result of processing high-quality, natural ingredients. Farm educator Martina Weber teaches children where goat's milk comes from and how it becomes cheese. This also requires the help of the little farm visitors, whether milking, feeding or cheese making. Here, children learn in a natural environment how cheese is made - at the same time, of course, petting the goats in the barn is never neglected.
But the Vulkanhof has exciting experiences to offer not only for children. In the cheese school you can make goat cheese yourself! In a cozy atmosphere you will learn how to make traditional artisan cheese in a small cheese kettle, which you can then take home.
If you prefer to get the cheese directly ready, you will find it in the farm's own store. On the sun terrace you can enjoy a delicious snack with goat cheese. The team of the Vulkanhof is also happy to put together individual gift baskets from the farm store according to your wishes.
Stop by the Vulkanhof. Here you can get healthy, genuine and regionally produced products on a day trip and experience the operation of a sustainably managed family farm on a tour.
