It's ten o'clock in the morning and the Pulvermaar natural outdoor pool has only just opened, which is why there aren't many bathers there yet. It has become almost commonplace for me to go to the Pulvermaar in the summer, and yet the place has not lost any of its magic for me. So my way led me again yesterday to the deepest of the twelve Eifelmaare.

For the last week I had planned to hike the 5 km long adventure trail Achterhöhe in Lutzerath. So I packed my backpack at noon and set off by car in the direction of Lutzerath. Arrived at the hiking parking lot Tonhügel, I laced up my hiking boots and began my hike. Near a little hut there was an information board. On the basis of the board I could get a good overview of the course of the adventure trail and I was curious what to expect. 

Although we live in Manderscheid and our children (8 and 3 years) see the castles every day, they are thrilled by every visit to the upper castle. After the obligatory stop at the pond in the spa park- throwing in stones is a must- we walk with a small backpack and some goodies from the spa house towards Grafenstraße and then turn left onto the footpath to the castles. The somewhat bumpy path leads through the forest and you have the upper castle in view, so that less running enthusiasts can always see the goal of the walk.

How do you actually make cheese? What is special about goat cheese? And what does it actually taste like? For a few weeks now, I've been working in Ulmen, in the beautiful GesundLand Vulkaneifel. Of course, I spend most of my time at my desk, but on some days, like today, there are lots of exciting things for me to learn and experience outside the office.

Weekend and sunshine - what could be better than spending a day full of relaxation with the kids in the GesundLand Vulkaneifel? How nice that I am sitting right at the source and have all the info, tips and suggestions for leisure activities at my fingertips (Small tip: Soon our new GästeInfo will be released!). For this Sunday we have chosen the parish and herb garden right next to the parish church in Greimerath.

It's buzzing around the Antonius Cross in Ulmen. But you still have to look closely to find the small brown-yellow bees. Tirelessly, busy honey bees search for nectar and pollen between the bright purple heath and the fragrant orchard meadow, which they bring to their newly installed homes. Local beekeepers and the Ulmen tourist office have come up with something very special for this idyllic spot:

  My tip today - the family outdoor pool in Manderscheid. Rightly you can call the beautifully located on the edge of the Lieser valley outdoor pool also a family pool. The attractions of the family outdoor pool certainly include the wide water slide, the diving tower (1 and 3 meters), the baby and toddler pool, the floor bubblers and the splash shower. In the paddling pool for toddlers, the splash wall and the water plate provide plenty of variety.
