After crossing the Our River, the first stage destination Prüm is almost reached, where the Basilica of St. Salvator invites you to visit. It was built by Charlemagne and houses the imperial tomb of Emperor Lothar, Charlemagne's grandson.
The route continues with a sporty section via Gerolstein to Daun. In Gerolstein, treat yourself to a break at the Helenenquelle spring in the spa gardens. The water of the spring contains a lot of calcium, magnesium and carbon dioxide. The water is taken from Middle Devonian carbonate rocks from a depth of 84 to 96 meters and can be drunk directly from the brass tap. Especially on warm days, this refreshment is a blessing. You should also not ignore the Gerolsteiner Dolomites, because they are the landmark of Gerolstein.
