This extensive circular hike starts directly at the museum Vulkanhaus Strohn.
... Read moreThe trail leads to the Strohner Märchen, an oval-shaped dry maar, which lies south of the well-known Gillenfelder Pulvermaar. The trail then follows natural paths to the Trautzberger Maar, the smallest volcanic lake in the Eifel. Through the wild and romantic Alfbach valley, the path leads to the small hamlet of Sprink and then to the Mückeln monastery pond. Past Mückeln, after a forest passage, the Holzmaar lies directly on the edge of the path. A great photo motif! From there it goes back to Strohn. An eventful hike that requires fitness due to its length.
