Hier in der Vulkaneifel heißt es ja bekanntlich "Et jit net jerannt" - zu Deutsch "Es wird nicht gerannt". In diesem Fall mache ich allerdings eine Ausnahme beziehungswiese entscheide ich mich sogar ganz bewusst für meine Laufschuhe.

I'm Tim and I live in Daun-Neunkirchen. Normally, I attend the vocational school in Gerolstein with a focus on accounting and controlling. But during this summer vacation, I swapped the school desk for an office workstation: During the second part of my eight-week school internship, I supported the GesundLand Vulkaneifel team for four weeks.

"Where medicines can do little or nothing, the best success can be achieved with water; it is therefore only a pity that water and applications with water are little known." (Sebastian Kneipp) I can only agree with this assessment of Father Kneipp from my own experience. Particularly in view of the very high temperatures of 30° and more at the present time - as in the past year - I have made the experience that a walk to the water treading pool during the lunch break and the water treading and arm bathing have the effect of a fresh cell cure.

Today I am invited to the Gasthaus Höfchen, because they will soon celebrate a big anniversary: 150 years! So I get into the car and drive off. Before I have phoned with Mrs. Bell - it was a little hectic, because in the inn just a larger troop of cyclists had to be supplied. But now, in the late afternoon, it fits better. From Daun you can quickly reach Eckfeld, it takes about 15 minutes. The Höfchen is located a little outside.

It's ten o'clock in the morning and the Pulvermaar natural outdoor pool has only just opened, which is why there aren't many bathers there yet. It has become almost commonplace for me to go to the Pulvermaar in the summer, and yet the place has not lost any of its magic for me. So my way led me again yesterday to the deepest of the twelve Eifelmaare.

Auf der Suche nach einer schönen Rundwanderung, haben wir uns für den Wasser & Felsen Weg rund um Üdersdorf im GesundLand Vulkaneifel entschieden. Ein Blick auf die Karte versprach, dass der größte Teil des Weges durch Wald führte, was uns bei den für diesen Tag gemeldeten Temperaturen sehr entgegen kam. Mit genügend Wasser und Verpflegung ausgestattet, starteten wir unsere Rundwanderung im Ortskern von Üdersdorf in Richtung Trittscheid. Nach ein paar hundert Metern waren wir schon das erste Mal begeistert.

On a Wednesday in November, I was out and about with part of the GesundLand team on a guided tour of the Kleine Kyll mindfulness trail. Accompanied by landscape mentor Deepti Statnik, the tour began at the Heidsmühle in Manderscheid. Although the Eifel was still covered in fog in the morning, the sun was able to fight its way here and there between the thick autumn clouds.

For the last week I had planned to hike the 5 km long adventure trail Achterhöhe in Lutzerath. So I packed my backpack at noon and set off by car in the direction of Lutzerath. Arrived at the hiking parking lot Tonhügel, I laced up my hiking boots and began my hike. Near a little hut there was an information board. On the basis of the board I could get a good overview of the course of the adventure trail and I was curious what to expect. 

Recently I was allowed to participate in a NATURE ACTIVE EXPERIENCE guided tour by relaxation coach Gabi Reuter. During the walk through Manderscheid, the medieval past of the magnificent natural and cultural landscape was to be thematized. The walk started in the early afternoon at the main entrance of the Maarmuseum. In the very warm weather, we set off with a small group of four people in total in the direction of the Mosenberg. There, our hiking guide gave us a short introduction to volcanology.
