Who walks slowly, feels the world

What healthy exercise does for body and soul

Actually, we all know them, the personal benefits of sport and exercise. But it's so hard for us to get ourselves up to move our bodies regularly - especially after a long and stressful day at work.

However, I have resolved to conquer my inner pig dog and to integrate daily exercise into my everyday life. Because you really do experience the positive effects firsthand. So it's time to get out into nature, breathe fresh air and stretch my legs! It doesn't always have to be an extended hike, a leisurely stroll to discover the beauties of nature is enough and makes its contribution to physical and mental well-being. And if I then find myself in such a pristine and volcanic landscape as the GesundLand Vulkaneifel, then the path to relaxation is not far. Because what is a well-known saying? There is no bad weather, only the wrong clothes - it's the attitude that makes it.

Since I get up and enjoy the nature of the GesundLand Vulkaneifel almost every day during a hike or at least a short walk, I can feel the positive effects of sports and exercise every day. I sleep better and feel balanced. In addition, more endorphins are released. I have less back pain and notice that tension is relieved almost by itself.

There are also effects that occur only after prolonged exercise. The cardiovascular system is an absolute winner from regular exercise. This is because those who challenge the heart simultaneously relieve it: The heart improves its performance through moderate sport, because the heart muscle is trained. As a result, the resting pulse rate drops, so the heart needs fewer beats to supply the body with sufficient oxygen when at rest. This in turn protects the heart, because it does not have to beat as often. In addition, fat and calcium deposits in the vessels are reduced by exercise - the fat metabolism switches to "use and build up," the sensation of cold decreases, and the metabolism gets going. Thus the well-being increases day by day.

But not only the body, but also the mental well-being benefits from regular exercise. Exercise makes us self-confident, balanced and satisfied. It is an effective remedy for mental stress and reduces stress, fat deposits and cares for our joints and bones - a true anti-aging method.

That's why I motivate myself every day: get out into nature, even if it's only for 30 minutes, where I can take a breath and be mindful of my surroundings. I take walks around the Maar, be it the Holzmaar, the Pulvermaar, the Immerather Maar...I hike along one or the other HeimatSpur, discover the Kleine Kyll mindfulness path in Manderscheid, the Parcours der Sinne in Immerath and the Landscape Therapy Park in Bad Bertrich. There are endless possibilities in the GesundLand Vulkaneifel to experience the vitality of nature up close. The offers in the GesundLand Vulkaneifel thus become, as it were, a training center for our health and create a basis for enjoying our daily exercise time.

So get into your hiking or sports shoes and get out into nature! And soon you can feel in your own body that you don't have to achieve maximum physical performance, but can also do yourself some good in a relaxed way according to the motto "Discover slowness".
