Longing for lightness, deceleration and nature
One weekend in May I was allowed to participate in a relaxation workshop in Bad Bertrich participate. The course was organized by the trained relaxation coaches Anita Otten and Margit Klein, as well as by yoga teacher Tanja Meeth-Weber. So I drove to Bad Bertrich on Saturday morning in bright sunshine and was warmly welcomed by the three of them. Besides me, 10 other ladies took part in the workshop.
The first part was taken over by Tanja with a one and a half hour yoga unit. With simple exercises she got us in the mood for the day. This was followed by lunch, where we enjoyed a vegan bean soup prepared by Tanja herself. For dessert we had delicious fruit skewers.
After the lunch break we went - with still bright sunshine - on the way to the Landscape Therapeutic Park Römerkessel.
Here Anita took over and explained to us the seven gardens of the park. The tour was accompanied by mindfulness exercises. For example, we stood in the park for five minutes with our eyes closed and let the environment with all its sounds affect us. Afterwards, everyone who wanted to could take off their shoes and walk along the barefoot path and the running oval walk.
As refreshment, the three surprised us with a non-alcoholic version of the "Cold Duck", the favorite drink of the Prince Elector and Archbishop Clemens von Wenzeslauswho had his summer residence in Bad Bertrich, as Anita explained to us beforehand. As a final exercise, we did a sun salutation before heading back.
Arriving back at the Tourist Information, where the course was held, we were further treated to culinary delights. There were waiting blueberry muffins, vegan chocolates and Rooibos tea were waiting for us. The muffins and chocolates were also baked or made by ourselves. Everyone was totally enthusiastic, especially about the chocolates made from matcha, cashew nuts or cacao.
Margit took over the last part of the workshop. We went on a relaxation journey with elements of autogenic training and progressive muscle relaxation. Deeply relaxed, I drove back home around 5:00 p.m.
In conclusion, I can say that the relaxation workshop fully achieved its goal. The combination of yoga, mindfulness and relaxation exercises was very were very coherent.
But especially the cordiality and attention to detail of the three coaches made this day special. I had to realize that one should treat oneself much more often to a relaxation day in order to gain a little distance from everyday life.
Many thanks to Anita Otten, Margit Klein and Tanja Meeth-Weber for this eventful yet relaxed day!
