Autumn walk around the Ulmen Maar

Finally it is here again, the beautiful, fresh autumn, and the trees show themselves in their full color splendor.

My autumn(vacations)time I use for an internship at the HealthyLand Vulkaneifel Team in Ulmen and one of my tasks was to go armed with the camera to the Ulmen Maar and to capture on my "Once-around-Maar-and-back" tour exactly this color splendor.

I like to take pictures and with a motif like the Ulmen Maar in autumn I almost could not stop. Suddenly you notice all these beautiful little things of nature, which you otherwise pass by carelessly. goes past: the mushrooms on the tree trunk, the still blooming water lily, the moss on the footbridge, which otherwise only the feet get to see and even the path on which you walk, seems different, almost as if enchanted. You become sensitive to everything, the steady rustle of the leaves in the wind, the sun's rays gently prickling your skin, the bright yet unobtrusive, pleasant colors of the leaves, the smell of wet earth..... You feel more intense, thousands of ideas pelt at you (in a positive sense) and you try to absorb them all, hold on to them and implement them.

This walk made me realize once again that we often only pay attention to the big picture and that we lose sight of the small, inconspicuous things , that make life really worth living.

I have resolved to take more often the time to go out with the camera, to change my line of sight, and to look which small wonders of nature I can discover again for me.

Fall has always been my favorite season and it never disappoints 🙂 .
