"I am together with my husband host of the vacation apartment "Eifelurlaub" in Daun. Our apartment is completely renovated: Guests can look forward to a new bathroom, new doors and furniture and an infrared cabin here. In addition, the apartment is very well equipped, because it is important to us that the guests feel comfortable here" tells us host Kristina Roden.
That this apartment was furnished with great attention to detail is evident at first glance: The appealing color concept of anthracite and petrol details runs through the rooms and immediately makes an inviting impression.
"It is great fun for us to be hosts, because we ourselves also like to go on vacation and it is important to us that we can also allow our guests a few nice days here. The granny apartment in our house was permanently rented. But it had been our wish for a long time to be able to offer a vacation apartment there." The Rodens have put this wish into practice and have been offering their vacation apartment "Eifelurlaub" since October 2020 for guests who want to spend their vacations in Daun.
Daun is a multifaceted vacation resort: In the heart of the Volcanic Eifel, families with children can spend an equally beautiful family vacation, as active people can look forward to a great hiking or cycling vacation around Daun. Not only the widely known Eifelsteig, but also the Lieserpfad, which was once called the "most beautiful hiking trail in the world" by Manuel Andrack, leads directly through Daun.
Kristina tells us: "My favorite moment of the day is when new guests arrive; and when we receive positive feedback and the guests tell us that they like it here. Guests can always approach us with their concerns and requests. We are happy to give tips on excursions and hope that guests feel completely at home here. In advance, we respond to inquiries and e-mails as promptly as possible." "We offer an apartment that lacks nothing: we offer a wellness oasis with infrared cabin, a lockable storage facility for bicycles and motorcycles and also a bread service." That was thought along here, shows up also in the kitchen, where many spices fine neatly lined up already wait for their employment at the stove. For all active vacationers who spend the day hiking or cycling, for example, the wellness oasis with the infrared cabin is a welcome place to relax at the end of the day.
"My favorite place in the GesundLand Vulkaneifel is up at the Maarkreuz above the Schalkenmehrener Maar, from there you have such a magnificent view over the Maar and the entire surroundings" Kristina tells us. For trips to the three Dauner Maaren is the vacation apartment "Eifelurlaub" an excellent starting point, they are but from there by bike or by car in quite a short time and convenient to reach. If you don't have your own bike with you, you can use the e-bike rental service of the Tourist Information Daun. For 30 euros a day, the bikes can be rented all day. There is a choice of different models, accessories such as trailers for children and dogs or bicycle helmets are also available.
"My husband and I both grew up here in the region. We feel very comfortable here and we like to go hiking and would also like to stay here because we just think it's great in the Volcanic Eifel" enthuses Kristina Roden. No wonder: popular excursion destinations such as the Daun Game and Adventure Park are just a stone's throw away from the Rodens' "Eifelurlaub" vacation home.
