The Ulmener Maar is the youngest of the Eifel. The outcrops of the well-preserved tuff wall, the clear water of the Maar lake and the findings of science on the volcanic history of the small village of Ulmen and its two maars are impressive. The two maars are connected by a historic double tunnel, thus ensuring the mill economy in dry times. Stories and legends tell of sea monsters, knights and crusaders, coins and witches.
