Welcome to our lovingly furnished vacation rental in Gillenfeld, in the heart of the Vulkaneifel. Our accommodation is ideal for families with children, as well as hikers and nature lovers who want to combine active relaxation with exciting excursions.
The approximately 140 m² vacation rental can accommodate up to 6 people and features a thoughtfully designed layout: a bright living and dining area, 3 separate bedrooms; a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker (pod and standard), pantry, and microwave; as well as two modern bathrooms with walk-in showers—perfect after long hikes or city tours.

Numerous hiking and biking trails start right outside the front door, leading to the famous maars such as Pulvermaar, Holzmaar, and Weinfelder Maar.
At the same time, Gillenfeld is an excellent starting point for day trips:

Trier—Germany’s oldest city with the Porta Nigra and Roman ruins
Cochem—romantic Moselle scenery with Reichsburg Castle, the old town, and boat tours
Koblenz — Deutsches Eck, Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, cable car, and Rhine promenade
Luxembourg (city & region)—historic old town (UNESCO), casemates, modern architecture, and stunning natural scenery

After an eventful day, the terrace or balcony is the perfect place to relax, barbecue, or play games. For families, a crib, high chair, games, and books are available. Hikers will appreciate the storage space for shoes and backpacks, maps, and tour recommendations.

Starting in June 2026, a guest fee of €2.10 per night per adult will be charged on site. The guest card includes free use of local public transportation, as well as attractive benefits at partner businesses.

    Our holiday home "Bauernhaus Vulkaneifel" is a 200 year historic building.  You can stay in the main building with up to six people. Additional the second option would be the former barn, which is now a small apartment for up to two people.

    Welcome in our well-equipped apartment (approx. 55m²) nearby the forest and next to the city center of Manderscheid. Our cozy flat and the beautiful nature around invite you to just relax! The apartment is located at the ground floor and is equipped with a living-/ bed- and bath room as well as an open kitchen. Towels and bed sheets are all inclusive. Our terrace and the lawn are perfect for sunbathing or enjoying a glas of wine in the evening. There is also a nice corner to have barbeque on mild summer nights.

    A warm welcome! The Gerberhaus is a modern holiday home in the heart of the Volcanic Eifel. With space for up to 7 people, it is ideal for small groups or for families who want to enjoy their holiday relaxed in their own four walls. In addition, stylish straw boarding/storage with bath/shower, and lounge. Ideal for stage hikers on the Eifelsteig/Lieserpfad and guests looking for a simple place to stay overnight. The Gerberhaus is part of an old farmstead in the area of the castle town of Manderscheid. Quiet and yet centrally located, you will stay here on the spacious property with inner courtyard and garden.Families will appreciate the large property and the many play possibilities, hiking or mountain bike groups the central location in the heart of the Volcanic Eifel. The special layout allows for flexible use of the Gerberhaus:You can choose between a double room with its own shower and toilet, a holiday flat for 5 people or the entire house - just as you need it! Yard & Garden:The Gerberhaus is part of the large property - with old farmhouse, barn with straw boarding house, 2 separate courtyards, large meadow, vegetable garden and garden house. Cyclists and mountain bikers can safely store their bikes and also wash them after a "wild tour".Families with children especially enjoy the garden and courtyard with play facilities (trampoline, slide, table tennis table), and the large courtyard area for playing and romping. The garden is not available to overnight guests of the Strohlager. The animals of the Gerberhaus:There are always animals to pet on the property, such as rabbits or poultry.Just outside Manderscheid there is another farm building where the flock of sheep and our two Icelandic horses live, who are happy to be stroked.Direct location on the Eifelsteig and Lieserpfad. Ideal starting point for circular walks and day tours in the Volcanic Eifel. Gastronomy on site.Bus connection to Daun or Wittlich in the immediate vicinity.

    Daun

    Enjoy your holiday in a spacious, comfortably furnished holiday flat in Daun. All important facilities such as shops, restaurants, supermarket etc. are within walking distance. The holiday flat with approx. 95 sqm of living space is located on the top 6th floor of an apartment building and offers an incomparable view of Daun. A garage belongs to the flat and there is also a communal bicycle cellar in the house.
